The European Commission is to commit €106 million in direct support to vulnerable sections of the population in Sudan where “the humanitarian situation continues to be critical”. The announcement was made by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management Christos Stylianides on 23 October. He is currently in Sudan, visiting EU humanitarian aid projects in South Darfur.
