Successful launch of Sentinel-5P, new satellite of Copernicus Earth-monitoring programme

13/10/2017 (Agence Europe)On Friday 13 October, the Sentinel-5 Precursor satellite of the Copernicus Earth-monitoring programme was successfully put into orbit using Russian Rockot KM launchers.  The vehicle left the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, north of Moscow and for just over seven years, the new Sentinel-5P satellite will have the role of analysing the chemistry of the Earth's atmosphere by measuring traces of gas from aerosols and pollutants (SO2, NO2, NO, CH4 and HCHO).  These...
