Subject to conditions, companies may use designs protected by Nintendo to advertise products compatible with Wii video games console

Any company which legally markets products for use with specific products corresponding to protected designs in the European Union may reproduce these designs to demonstrate the use to be made of its products with those corresponding to the protected designs, said the European Court of Justice in a ruling delivered on Wednesday 27 September (case C-24/16 and C-25/16).
