Civil society and the Greens in the European Parliament, deeply concerned at the potential risks of modern biotechnologies, such as transgenesis, on the environment, health and organic farming, issued a plea on Wednesday 27 September for agricultural products from these new techniques to be considered to be GMOs and regulated as such.
