31/07/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 31 July, the Commission opened a public investigation into investments made by persons or entities of the EU in other member states. It hopes to find out whether the stakeholders feel that a legal framework should be set in place for the prevention and amicable resolution of disputes between investors and public authorities within the single market. A framework of this kind could save time and money for EU investors and the national authorities, according to Valdis Dombrovskis, the Vice-President of the Commission for the euro, Social Dialogue, Financial Stability, Financial Services and the Capital Markets Union. This initiative comes in the framework of the mid-term revision of the Capital Markets Union of June 2017. Interested parties have until 3 November of this year to respond to the questionnaire.
