Thirteen countries in Africa and Europe sign Tunis Declaration on managing migrants in central Mediterranean

The interior ministers of seven European countries – Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Malta, Slovenia and Switzerland – and six African countries – Algeria, Libya, Mali, Niger, Chad and Tunisia, along with the Estonian interior minister and the European Commissioner for Migration, Dimitris Avramopoulos, signed a declaration in Tunis on Monday 24 July, known as the Tunis Declaration, in which they pledge to boost cooperation to manage flows of migrants on the central Mediterranean...
