European Union efforts to tackle alcohol abuse are still attracting much attention. Anticipating the comments of European health ministers meeting in informal session in Tallinn on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 July, Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis stated that everyone had to share the burden.
“The EU alone can’t raise the age to drink, national taxes on alcohol, regulate ways and conditions to sell alcohol nor impose zero tolerance”, he said.
