European Council to ask Commission to find way to unblock reform of asylum system

It is not to amend its texts on the European asylum system, nor to withdraw and re-word these texts, that the European leaders will ask the Commission on the second day of the European Council, but to make adjustments to its initial texts in order to help unblock the system.

Although the first stream of Council conclusions clearly mentioned this call to amend the legislative proposals, the latest draft of 19 June simply asks the Commission to explore possible ways for reducing the burden...
