MEPs are calling for European budget to be increased in support of space sector

On Wednesday 21 June, the European Parliament’s industry, research and energy committee (ITRE) called for the European budget to be increased in order to support European space policy and industry in the sector. The own initiative report was adopted by an overwhelming majority (54 votes for, 1 against, with 1 abstention).

During the vote, rapporteur Constanze Krehl (S&D, Germany) explained, “We expect the member states to appropriately take into account the space sector in the future...
