20/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 19 June, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service condemned the bombing of a market in Yemen's northern province of Saada two days earlier, which resulted in the death of more than 20 civilians and left several injured. The bombing by the coalition "is a stark reminder that Yemeni civilians are the ones bearing the brunt of a war that has devastated their country, threatening to undermine regional stability", the EEAS spokesperson stated. "The EU expects all parties to re-engage constructively, under the auspices of the UN, to find a peaceful and negotiated political solution to the conflict so as to bring an end to the current unprecedented humanitarian crisis", the spokesperson said, adding that the EU will continue to work with the parties in the search for a political solution to the crisis, while providing humanitarian assistance.
