09/06/2017 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission launched a new online tool on Friday 9 June to exchange information on EU companies by means of a single platform. Linking national business registers will facilitate cross-border trade and increase confidence and transparency in the EU single market, the Commission says in a press release. Previously, information on companies had to be requested separately from the various national registers through often lengthy and costly procedures. The service has been set up “in close cooperation between the Commission and the Member States under the Directive on interconnection of EU business registers (BRIS)”.
