03/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 3 May, the EU ambassadors confirmed an informal agreement concluded between the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament on the proposed regulation modifying regulation (1683/1995) establishing a single form for visas. This new regulation establishes a new common design for the visa sticker to update its security characteristics and prevent forgeries. The current sticker, which has been in circulation for 20 years, is considered compromised due to various serious counterfeiting and fraud incidents, the Council of the EU explained in a press release.
