On Tuesday 25 April, the European Court of Auditors submitted a report in which it said that the “hotspots” approach (reception centres for migrants and asylum seekers set up at the peak of the crisis in Italy and Greece in 2015) has led to positive results and has helped to improve migration management.
The European auditors consider that the hotspots help to considerably improve the registration, identification and security controls of illegal migrants.
