EU will provide two thirds of $6 billion humanitarian aid pledged by donors for 2017

The international conference 'Supporting the future of Syria and the region' came to an end in Brussels on Wednesday evening 5 April, on pledges of US$6 billion (€5.6 billion) in humanitarian aid for 2017 and $3.73 billion (€3.47 billion) in humanitarian aid, for resilience and development for 2018-2020 in order to relieve the enormous suffering of the Syrian people in the country and to support the five million refugees and their host communities (see EUROPE 11762).
