In the common resolution from the EPP, S&D, ECR, ALDE, Greens/EFA and EFDD Groups that was adopted on Thursday 16 March, the European Parliament calls for the immediate release of Filipino senator Leila de Lima, who is a human rights defender and former leader of the Filipino human rights committee. She is also the main opponent of Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte and his violent anti-drugs campaign.
