27/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – During a mission to Copenhagen on Monday 27 Tuesday 28 February for discussing Denmark’s contribution to the EU civil protection mechanism, the European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Mr Stylianides took part in an emergency response exercise for tackling dangerous nuclear incidents. He took advantage of this opportunity to praise “the impressive capacities of the Danish Emergency Management Agency” (DEMA). The Commissioner is also expected to have meetings with the State Secretary for defence, Mr Thomas Ahrenkiel to discuss the role of civil protection and disaster risk reduction strategies and meet humanitarian NGOs. On Tuesday Commissioner Stylianides will address the Danish Parliament about the Commission's priorities in humanitarian aid and civil protection. (AN)
