European Parliament approves aid of €1.8 million for workers made redundant in Netherlands

14/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – In Strasbourg on Tuesday 14 February, the European Parliament approved the decision to mobilise the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to the tune of €1.8 million in favour of the Netherlands (see EUROPE 11722, 11678). The Netherlands made the application after 1,096 redundancies were made in six companies in the retail trade sector (regions of Drenthe and Overijssel). The Council will adopt the decision on 17 February. (LC)
