15/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 15 December, the European External Action Service announced that the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has allocated the three-digit dialling code +383 to Kosovo. This allocation is confirmed in the bulletin of the ITU and is the result of the arrangements agreed between Serbia and Kosovo. An agreement was reached between Belgrade and Pristina on 13 November for a three-digit code to be allocated to Kosovo by the ITU (see EUROPE 11667). On 15 December, the EU also handed over to Mts d.o.o. the temporary authorisation for mobile services and the licence for fixed telephony services to be undertaken in Kosovo, issued by the Kosovo Telecommunication Regulatory Authority. The EU therefore commended the parties for these achievements. The agreement on telecommunications dates from 2013. (CG)
