15/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday evening 14 December, the S&D group reshuffled its political office: one president, a treasurer and nine vice presidents. It comes as no surprise that Gianni Pitella (Italy) is the president and is also their candidate for European Parliament President. The treasurer is Péter Niedermüller (Hungary). The new vice presidents are: Victor Boştinaru (Romanian), Udo Bullmann (Germany), Tanja Fajon (Slovenia), Jeppe Kofod (Denmark), Maria João Rodrigues (Portugal), Isabelle Thomas (France), Elena Valenciano (Spain), Kathleen van Brempt (Belgium), Josef Weidenholzer (Austria). The new political office is valid until the end of the Parliamentary mandate. (PH)
