Winter Clean Energy Package, Commission criticised from all sides over biofuel proposals

European industry and business lobbies generally welcomed the huge Winter Energy Package for clean energy unveiled by the European Commission on Wednesday 30 November (see EUROPE 11679), but nobody is happy with the proposals for biofuels.

European employers’ association BusinessEurope has welcomed a positive signal for speeding up full integration of the electricity market in the EU.  ‘We support the Commission’s plan to further strengthen the functioning of the EU’s power market....
