21/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – Ulrike Rabmer-Koller, the head of the UEAPME, the European association of craft, small and medium-sized enterprises, stressed to Digital Economy Commissioner Günther Oettinger at a round table on digital skills on Tuesday 20 September that the focus has to be on SMEs. She highlighted the great diversity among small businesses, some looking for highly qualified ICT (information and communication technologies) staff and, at the opposite end of the scale, others that do not use ICT at all. In March of this year, the UEAPME adopted a statement on promoting digital skills among workers, whether as part of their general skills, such as being able to use the internet, or much more specialised, cutting-edge.
