06/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – With North Korea having recently launched three ballistic missiles on Monday 5 September, the spokesperson of the European External Action Service has once again called upon Pyongyang to stop all launches of missiles using ballistic missile technology and to abandon its ballistic missiles programmes "in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner". These launches are the latest in a list of "serious violations by Korea of its international obligations laid down in a number of resolutions of the UN Security Council", the spokesperson said, in reference to the launch by the country, on 24 August, of a ballistic missile from a submarine (see EUROPE 11608). The spokesperson therefore calls upon Pyongyang immediately to cease its illegal actions, which are exacerbating tensions, and to re-engage in a "credible and meaningful dialogue with the international community, in particular in the framework of the Six Party Talks".
