24/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - EU supports EASO in Greece. In a press release published on Tuesday 24 May, the European Commission indicated that it had earmarked €25 million in emergency funds to support the European Asylum Seekers Office (EASO) in Greece and the Greek authorities. These additional resources will help towards implementing the EU/Turkey agreement and the emergency mechanism for re-locating asylum seekers, explained the Commission. Additional experts and interpreters will also be made available on the ground. This funding comes out of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). (SP)
