16/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - €36.7 million EIB loan for Austrian wind park construction. On Wednesday 9 March, the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced that it was lending €36.7 million to Österreichische Bundesforste AG (ÖBf AG), an undertaking responsible for managing Austria's natural resources. The latter's subsidiary, Windpark Pretul GmbH, will be in charge of constructing a 42 MW wind farm in southern Austria. The EIB loan will finance up to 75% of the total cost of the project, which will amount to €49.0m. This will be the first direct EIB loan to support electricity generation from wind in Austria. Its goal is to produce 2,000 MW of additional wind capacity between 2010 and 2020. (EH)
