15/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - EU condemns terrorist attacks in northern Mali. The EU has condemned the recent terrorist attacks carried out in northern Mali, particularly in Kidal and near Timbuktu, which have led to the loss of life among elements of MINUSMA and the armed Malian forces. On Saturday 13 February, a spokesperson for High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said “such acts of violence, following on from a series of attacks in recent months, are aimed at making implementation of the peace agreement signed on 20 June fragile, and at preventing the return of peace to all parts of Mali. The perpetrators must be held accountable before justice.” Offering its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the EU reiterates “its full support to MINUSMA in its crucial mission in Mali” and reiterates its solidarity with Mali.
