28/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - TABC wants agreement on new Safe Harbor concluded soon. On Wednesday 27 January, the Transatlantic Business Association (TABC) urged the President of the Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, and US President, Barack Obama, to help accelerate the conclusion of the new Safe Harbor agreement. “American and European companies rely on data flows to innovate, create jobs, connect global supply chains provide goods and services, and engage with their subsidiaries located on both sides of the Atlantic… Our companies are, however, faced with uncertainty on how best to continue to transfer data across the Atlantic”, following the October 6 European Court of Justice Ruling which invalidated the adequacy finding upon which the EU-US Safe Harbor framework is based. The EU and US have given themselves until the end of January to reach a solution on revision of the Safe Harbor agreement. (EH)
