On Tuesday 26 January in Tunis, a “Competitive Services Support Programme” (PACS) funded by the EU to the tune of €20 million was launched under the aegis of the EU head of delegation, Laura Baeza. An EU delegation press release in Tunis explained that this would involve a “multisectoral pilot project to upgrade services” and would help the sector improve its competitiveness on the basis of what has been done for the industrial sector. In Tunisia, this sector accounts for “62.3% of GDP and 23% of exports (including tourism)”, explained the same source. (FB)
