28/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Industry calls for greater regional cooperation in North Sea. Ahead of a High-Level Group meeting organised by the Dutch Presidency on this question on 4 February in Amsterdam, the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) and Friends of the Supergrid (FOSG) launched an appeal on Thursday 28 January, for increased regional cooperation between member states in the North Sea offshore wind farm network. These two organisations are reiterating the appeal launched at the European Parliament on 11 January (see EUROPE 11472) to set up a High-Level Group including Ministers for Energy from countries in the region and representatives from the EU institutions, in an effort to draw up a roadmap for developing energy infrastructure in the North Sea. EWEA and FOSG also call for the creation of a platform that brings together different stakeholders (industry, civil society) in the project. (EH)
