18/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Joint Council of Europe-European Union projects. The Council of Europe and the European Union will, on Thursday 21 January, launch three joint sports projects in 2016. The first seeks to tackle the fixing of sports competitions (KCOOS), the second will support Council of Europe standards in security, safety and services during sports events (ProS4) and the third will promote gender equality in sport (BIS). The first will run for a year and a half (until 30 June 2017) following a Council of Europe call for tender. The other two will run until the end of this year and will be financed by direct grants from the European Commission as part of the Erasmus + scheme. The three projects will be implemented by the Council of Europe, in cooperation with its partners. (SPj)
