03/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - Cogeca has new Swedish president. The top priorities for new Cogeca (General Committee for Agricultural Cooperation in the European Union) President Thomas Magnusson elected on Thursday 3 December include improving EU policies which directly impact on EU agri-cooperatives especially the upcoming trade talks and ensuring that the common agricultural policy (CAP) delivers. Magnusson is from the Federation of Swedish Farmers and farms a mixed dairy farm with forestry in Sweden. He will be supported by four vice-presidents: Martin Pycha from the Czech Republic Agricultural Association; Thomas Memmert from the German Cooperative Association (DRV); Maria Antonia Figueirdo from Confagri, Portugal; Vasileios Parolas from the Greek Cooperative Association Paseges.
