Brussels, 01/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 1 December, the European Commission announced the payment of a €100 million loan to Tunisia.
This is the second tranche of the €300 million macro-financial assistance programme for Tunisia. The first tranche - also for €100 million - was paid in May. The aid aims to support “the economic and social reform agenda that Tunisia intends to implement”, said European commissioner for economic and financial affairs Pierre Moscovici. In Moscovici's view, the EU is “more determined than ever to stand alongside the Tunisian people after the terrible attacks the country has suffered this year”.
