Brussels, 26/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 26 November, the European Parliament called for the adoption of a new animal welfare strategy for the 2016-20 period (see EUROPE 11437).
The European Parliament approved by 542 votes in favour, to 73 against, with 23 abstentions, a joint resolution submitted by the EPP, S&D, ALDE and ECR groups. The Greens/EFA group, GUE/NGL and ELDD put forward a range of amendments calling for a more ambitious strategy but all of these were rejected...
