MEPs hail elections and call for path of democracy to be taken

Brussels, 26/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - During a plenary session debate on Wednesday 25 November, members of the European Parliament hailed the elections held in Burma/Myanmar on 8 November and called on the country to continue on the path to democracy.

Alexander Graf Lambsdorff (ALDE, Germany), who led the Parliament observation mission to Burma/Myanmar, called the elections “completely historic”. “There is real hope linked in with these elections”, he added. Lars Adaktusson...
