23/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - Interoperability for a modern public sector. The European Union promotes the interoperability of European public administrations' electronic services. Indeed on Monday 23 November, the Council of the Ministers of the EU gave its green light to a draft decision to replace and modernise the ISA programme - which marks the end of the adoption procedure. The new programme, known as ISA2, aims to help member state public administrations interact with each other more effectively and to offer digital services that are easier for citizens and companies to use. It will especially facilitate the development of tools for the creation and verificaton of electronic signatures, and cross-border online health systems. The programme will run for the 2016-2020 period and will have budget of nearly €131 million. (SPj)
