17/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - The five prize-winners for the European Broadband Awards have now been revealed. The five most innovative projects helping connect people to high quality Internet, specifically in rural zones, are now known. On Monday 16 November, the European Commission unveiled the names of the five new European prize-winners for the European Broadband Awards. These are Breitband Nordhessen in Germany; RAIN II in Lithuania; CAI Harderwij in the Netherlands; guifi.net in Spain and Stokab in Sweden. These projects represent the best practices identified in terms of economic models and efficient use of public investment, technology and networks. In its press release, the European Commission notes that the “prize winners selected from 48 candidates by an international jury will not receive financial support but greater and well-deserved visibility”.
