05/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - Cimpeanu appointed interim prime minister. Education Minister Sorin Cimpeanu, who belongs to the ALDE family of parties, was appointed interim Prime Minister of Romania by President Klaus Iohannis on Thursday 5 November. He provisionally replaces Victor Ponta who stood down from office following the discotheque fire tragedy and because of legal problems he was facing. (SP)
