04/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - €285 million in EIB loans to support various energy projects in Greece. On Tuesday 3 November, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed loan agreements for a total of €285 million to support several energy projects in Greece. The loan agreements include: - the second tranche (for €110 million) of a €190 million loan to the Greek electricity company Public Power Corporation in order to implement projects on 18 islands in the North and East Aegean, Dodecanese, Cyclades, and the Ionian islands that are not interconnected; - the second tranche (for €70 million) of a €140 million loan to the Greek Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE) to improve the Greek electricity grid; - the second tranche (for €65 million) of a €130 loan to IPTO to improve the interconnection of the Cyclades islands; - a €40 million loan to the Hellenic National Gas System Operator (DESFA) to extend the LNG terminal on the island of Revithoussa.
