29/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - Youth Forum underlines shortcomings of youth policy in Europe. On Thursday 29 October, the European Youth Forum published a report that summed up the feeling of youth organisations with regard to the policy conducted for them in Europe. The report is presented as a shadow report of the one being drafted by the European Commission on this subject - as “57% of the relevant youth organisations consider that their expertise has not sufficiently been taken into account”. The conclusions show that youth policy must be adequately coordinated to ensure that young people remain a priority in all appropriate sectors. Furthermore, although specific efforts must be made to address disadvantaged young people, youth policies should approach all young people holistically. In addition, youth policy should make young people autonomous, and help them find direction and become fully integrated in their communities and society as a whole. (IL)
