22/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - High Level Group on Automotive Industry looking for candidates. On Monday 19 October, the European Commission launched a call for applications for the High Level Group on competitiveness and sustainable growth in the automotive industry (GEAR 2030), the successor to the high level group CARS 2020. GEAR 2030 - which will be composed of members from the national ministries and academic world, as well as from associations and federations in the automotive sector - will hold a regular dialogue on all matters relating to the competitiveness of the automotive industry, and will study the impact on the environment resulting from European legislation and societal changes. In addition, it will advise the Commission on how to manage autonomous vehicles in European legislation in connection with Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) deployment. (PH)
