05/10/2015 (Agence Europe) - Agreement on electricity connection between Kosovo and the Continental Europe synchronous grid. On Tuesday 29 September, KOSTT (Kosovo's transmission system operator - TSO) signed a connection agreement with the 29 European TSOs under the banner of ENSTO-E. The Turkish TSO, TEIAS, and the Albania TSO, OST, which have signed similar agreements with ENTSO-E in the past, are also signatories of the KOSTT agreement. The connection agreements increase the security of the electricity system as more TSOs can offer help to a power system operator in difficulty. The connection agreements also drive electricity costs down as TSOs can share more power reserves used to maintain a balance between generation and demand at all times, ENTSO-E explains. ENTSO-E states that the interoperability and integration of the South East Europe market is one of its priorities. (EH)
