29/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - Jean-Claude Juncker recognises need to change seconded worker rules. The member states have until 18 June 2016 to transpose into their legislation the EU implementation directive on the secondment of workers, and on Tuesday 29 September, the president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, discussed with the French prime minister, Manuel Valls, desirable amendments to the EU rules without stating whether the original 1996 directive should be changed or simply the implementation directive. Following a meeting with Valls in Paris, Juncker said they had discussed social policy and amendments needed to the directive on the secondment of workers in order to put an end to social dumping. A policy debate is scheduled at the College of Commissioners on 6 October on the draft legislation on job mobility, expected by the end of the year, which will cover the secondment of workers. (JK)
