Brussels, 21/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - The main topics at a meeting of EU energy ministers chaired by Luxembourg's economy minister Etienne Schneider and attended by Energy Union Commissioner Maros Sefcovic on Wednesday 23 September will focus on energy technologies and financing sustainable transition.
An initial working meeting on new energy technologies will follow up on a conference on the strategic energy technology plan (SET-plan) on 21 and 22 September in Luxembourg which will initiate talks on proposals for EU aid for innovative low-carbon technologies. Innovation and the search for clean energy technology are the fifth dimension of Energy Union.
A second working meeting will consider European financing mechanisms for dealing with the energy transition challenge in the EU, notably via the Juncker Investment Plan.
Over lunch, the energy ministers will exchange views on energy and development aid. (Original version in French by Emmanuel Hagry)
