16/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - EU wants to strengthen cultural cooperation with China. At the third China-EU High-Level People-to-People Dialogue on Tuesday 15 September, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Tibor Navracsics and China's Vice-Premier Liu Yangdong called for cultural exchange between the two partners to be strengthened. Reviewing the progress in cooperation between China and the EU on education, multilingualism, culture, youth and gender equality since the dialogue began three years ago, Navracsics said that the EU was ready to strengthen this bilateral cultural cooperation and dialogue between peoples in a spirit of openness and mutual respect. This exchange is one of the three pillars of the EU-China bilateral dialogue - the other two being economic cooperation and mutual political trust. (IL)
