Commission backs unlimited WTO waiver for LDCs on access to medicines

Brussels, 10/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 10 September, the European Commission proposed that the EU support the request of the least developed countries (LDCs) for better access to generic medicines by means of an indefinite waiver from the WTO rules on intellectual property for pharmaceuticals (the TRIPS agreement).
