09/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - François Villeroy de Galhau proposed as Governor of Bank of France. On Tuesday 8 September, France's President François Hollande proposed to appoint former BNP Paribas executive, 56-year-old François Villeroy de Galhau, as Governor of the Bank of France. Tasked with producing a report on investment in French business (see EUROPE 11376), Villeroy de Galhau was up against current ECB board member Benoît Coeuré, as successor to Christian Noyer, whose mandate expires at the end of October. The French government's proposal will have to be ratified by the finance committees of the country's two parliamentary assemblies. (MB)
