Only manifest violations of essential rules of law allow judgment returned in another member state not to be recognised

Brussels, 16/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - A national jurisdiction may decline to recognise a judgment returned in another member state only if this judgment manifestly violates an essential rule of law, the Court of Justice of the EU stated on Thursday 16 July.

Under Union law, legal decisions returned in a member state must be recognised by the other member states, unless this recognition is manifestly in conflict with the public order of the member state in which recognition is requested....
