14/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - Romania. On Saturday 11 July, Romania's Prime Minister Victor Ponta was put under formal investigation for corruption, fraud, tax evasion and money laundering. Some of his assets have been seized while the investigation is ongoing. Although Ponta resigned as leader of the Social Democrat party on Sunday, he refuses to resign as prime minister. The European Commission has declined to comment. (SP)
