Brussels, 03/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) is to lend €156 million for support construction of the Nordergründe wind farm, in Germany, one of the country's first offshore wind farm projects.
Located off the German coast in the North Sea, the wind farm will consist of 18 turbines with a total generating capacity of 111 MW. The total cost of this large-scale innovative renewable energy project is €410 million.
Off-shore construction work will begin in March 2016 and is planned to be completed by the end of 2016. The owner and operator of the project is wpd AG, which specialises in renewable energy, particularly wind energy projects in Western, Central and Eastern Europe, and in Asia. (Emmanuel Hagry)
