Brussels, 22/05/2015 (Agence Europe) - On the sidelines of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga, on Thursday 21 May, the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia signed a joint declaration on the promotion of an interconnection between the natural gas transport infrastructure of the four countries, with a substantial capacity in both directions. The four countries also expressed their intention of making common efforts to diversify the routes and sources of supply.
The name Eastring is not referred to in the declaration, but the project will connect Slovakia to Bulgaria via Hungary and Romania, based on the existing infrastructure on the Slovakian territory, Eustream, which has been completely renovated since 2009. (Emmanuel Hagry)
