Brussels, 17/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - Experts from the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) will meet in Jurmala, Latvia, on Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 April for a seminar on road safety in Europe.
Tuesday 21 will be devoted to the exchange of best practice and to establishing future TISPOL priorities. The Latvian Presidency of the Council of the EU points out that this seminar is part of the STRIDER Project (Solutions to Reduce Serious Injuries and Death on European Roads).
On 22 and 23 April, participants will analyse the results of the 24-hour “Speed Marathon” which took place from 6.00am on Thursday 16 April to 6.00am the following day. Twenty two European countries took part in this large scale speed-check operation. (Jean Comte)
